Common questions

Is this legal? What about TCPA and 10DLC?

Every Hosted Reviews account ships on a Twilio toll-free number with verified messaging. STOP and HELP keywords are handled at the carrier level, and every message is stamped with your business name. You're responsible for sending only to customers who've agreed to be texted (which, for review requests after a paid job, is the standard practice) — we handle the messaging infrastructure side.

How is this different from the bigger review tools?

Price and posture. The big enterprise review tools run $200–$400/mo and are built for sales teams at companies 10x the size of a typical local service. Hosted Reviews is $29 or $49, built by an owner-operator running a cleaning company. No pushy sales calls, no annual contract, no "talk to sales for pricing."

Do I need to integrate it with my CRM?

No. You can send a review request manually from the dashboard, paste in a list of customers, or hit the API if you want automation. CRM integration is on the roadmap but not required.

What happens after the 14-day free trial?

If you didn't enter a card, nothing — the account just stops sending. You can come back any time, add a card, and pick up where you left off. No expired-trial pressure tactics.

Can I import my existing customer list?

What if a customer leaves a 1-star review anyway?

Can my technicians send their own request texts?

Yes. Every tech can have a login that lets them send the request "from" their name without seeing your business-wide settings. Customers reference the tech by name in reviews — and the team feels the recognition.

Do you support email instead of SMS?

SMS only on V1. Email open rates run around 20% and review-request emails get filtered into promotions. SMS is at 95% open rate within an hour. We're keeping the product narrow until that channel is fully optimized.

What about non-cleaning verticals?

The product works for any local service business that finishes a job and wants a review — HVAC, landscaping, pest control, roofing, plumbing, you name it.
