I run Top Care Cleaning and built Hosted Reviews. Read this knowing I'm biased toward my own product. I will tell you exactly when a competitor is the better fit.
Reputation.com appears in almost every "best review management software" list. Here is who it is actually built for — and a fast answer for whether a sub-50-employee service business should even evaluate it.
The fast answer
If you run a single-location cleaning, HVAC, window washing, pressure washing, or lawn care company with under 50 employees: stop here. Reputation.com is built for automotive dealerships, healthcare systems, franchise chains, and property management groups. The pricing structure and onboarding model make no economic sense for your use case.
If you manage five or more locations, or you are evaluating enterprise reputation tools for a regional brand, read on — there are genuine strengths worth knowing.
Reputation.com pricing — what they publish
Reputation.com publishes its pricing tiers on their pricing page. All prices are per-location per-month.
Rep Core: $80/location/month. Includes review monitoring and response across 250+ sites, listings sync across 250+ directories, AI-powered insights dashboard, and one-click AI review responses. No survey functionality. No SMS included.
Rep Core + Pulse: $115/location/month. Adds one custom survey on top of Rep Core features.
Rep Core + Surveys: $150/location/month. Adds six custom surveys and email review request campaigns on top of Rep Core.
SMS: Not included in any base plan. Sold as a separate paid add-on in credit blocks — for example, 1,000 SMS/MMS messages per 12-month period as a purchased SKU. (Reputation.com Product Offering Details) This means you pay the base plan cost, then separately purchase SMS credits on top.
Additional add-ons: Competitive Insights, Actions & Ticketing, and Social Suite are each priced separately on top of any base plan. Enterprise integrations (CRM, EHR systems) are in the Premium tier.
No free trial. Enterprise contracts are typical — Reputation.com's sales model is account-manager-led, not self-serve. Source: Reputation.com Pricing Page.
Third-party pricing analysis from Wiser Review and Reviewflowz (as of May 2026) corroborate these tier structures and note that the final contract price for enterprise clients often differs from published rates after negotiation. Always verify current pricing directly before evaluating.
What a 5-location business would actually pay
Running the math on a regional operation with five locations:
- Rep Core only: $80 × 5 = $400/month base
- Rep Core + Pulse (surveys): $115 × 5 = $575/month
- Rep Core + Surveys (full suite): $150 × 5 = $750/month
- Add SMS credit blocks, Social Suite, and competitive intelligence: $800–$1,200+/month before enterprise integration costs
For a single-location operator: $80–$150/month base before any SMS add-on costs. That is two to five times the cost of alternatives that include SMS in the base plan.
For context: Top Care Cleaning runs on Hosted Reviews at $29/month. We sent 70 SMS review requests in our first test cohort, achieved a 21% overall conversion rate (15 reviews), and those reviews have contributed to our current 4.9-star rating across 373 Google reviews. The core functionality — SMS review requests with funnel screening — costs $29/month. Reputation.com's base plan at $80/month does not include SMS at all.
What Reputation.com is genuinely good at
I want to be direct here: Reputation.com is not a bad product. It is the wrong product for most operators reading this. For the right buyer, it is a strong platform.
Listings management at scale. Syncing 250+ directory listings across five, ten, or fifty locations — ensuring NAP (name, address, phone) consistency everywhere — is a real operational problem for regional brands. Reputation.com handles it. Hosted Reviews does not have this capability.
Cross-brand competitive benchmarking. The proprietary Reputation Score tracks and benchmarks your performance across all locations relative to competitors. Useful for a franchise operator presenting to corporate stakeholders. Not relevant for a single-location operator.
Survey infrastructure. Six customizable customer feedback surveys in the top tier. For healthcare systems, property management groups, and automotive dealerships that need structured NPS/CSAT data alongside public review generation, this is a meaningful feature set.
Enterprise CRM and EHR integrations. Native connections to Salesforce, Yardi, and healthcare EHR systems enable automatic review and survey triggers at scale. Significant for a hospital group or a multi-location property management company with hundreds of monthly transactions.
G2 Spring 2026 recognition. Reputation.com earned the #1 Enterprise Usability ranking on G2 Spring 2026 — 4.6/5 with 2,465 reviews as of May 2026. 4.4/5 on Capterra (184 reviews) as of May 2026. These ratings reflect genuine enterprise value; the reviewers are enterprise users with enterprise use cases.
Where it falls short for local service operators
SMS is an afterthought. Every review tool that competes for your attention leads with SMS — it is the highest-conversion channel for post-job review requests. Reputation.com charges extra for SMS and sells it in annual credit blocks, not monthly sends. Their platform is built around email surveys and review monitoring, not SMS-first workflows.
Funnel screening is asynchronous. The Rep Core + Surveys plan gives you private feedback surveys. But these are sent separately from the public review request, not inline as an intercept in real time. A dissatisfied customer can still receive the review request link and post a public one-star before the internal survey response is processed. It is not a real-time intercept in the way that Hosted Reviews or Grade.us implement one.
Setup takes days to weeks. Reputation.com's onboarding involves account managers, implementation teams, and enterprise configuration. This is the right model for a 50-location automotive group. For a 10-person cleaning company, it means weeks before the system is live. Hosted Reviews is a 10-minute setup.
No free trial. You are committing without testing. For a $400+/month multi-location investment, this is standard in enterprise SaaS — but it is a meaningful risk for any business evaluating whether the platform fits.
What actual users say about Reputation.com
The G2 and Capterra reviews are dominated by enterprise buyers — and those reviews are largely positive on enterprise use cases.
Kim W. on G2: "Centralized dashboard — I'm not bouncing between Google, social media, and other platforms." Kim's context is a multi-location operation managing reviews across multiple brands.
A property management reviewer on G2: "Surveys integrate with Yardi automatically — saves enormous time." Yardi is property management software. Not relevant for a cleaning company.
A G2 reviewer who has used the platform for six years across four dealership locations: "Professional review responses, consistent brand voice across all locations." Four dealership locations. This is the buyer Reputation.com is built for.
The common criticism across both G2 and Capterra: the Reputation Score fluctuates without clear explanation, making it hard to act on. Social scheduling has persistent bugs. Support lacks technical depth — escalations are needed for basic issues. These are enterprise-scale frustrations from enterprise-scale users.
For a 10-person cleaning company, the relevant takeaway is simpler: no one at the scale of a typical service operator is writing reviews of Reputation.com. The platform does not compete for your business.
Cheaper alternatives for single-location operators
If you arrived here from a roundup list and your operation is a single-location service business, here is the relevant comparison. For full context on all six vendors, the review management software buyer's guide covers each one with the same operator-voice framing.

Frequently asked questions
Is Reputation.com worth it for a small business? Not for most small businesses. The minimum viable use case is five or more locations — and even then, you are paying $400–$750/month before SMS. For a single-location cleaning, HVAC, or pressure washing company, tools like Hosted Reviews, NiceJob, or even Podium are better-matched on both price and feature set.
Does Reputation.com have SMS included? No. SMS is a paid add-on on all plans, sold in credit blocks (e.g., 1,000 SMS per 12-month period as a separate SKU). (Reputation.com Product Offering Details) It is not included in any base tier.
What's the minimum budget for Reputation.com? The lowest published tier is $80/location/month (Rep Core). For a single location with no add-ons, that is $80/month before SMS. For five locations with Pulse, $575/month. Enterprise contract pricing is negotiated separately.
Is Reputation.com good for a single-location service business? No. The pricing, onboarding model, and feature set are calibrated for multi-location regional brands. A single-location service business will pay for enterprise infrastructure they will not use, take weeks to onboard, and still need to add SMS separately. Look at Hosted Reviews, NiceJob, or Birdeye alternatives instead.
What's a cheaper alternative to Reputation.com? For local service operators: Hosted Reviews ($29/month, SMS-first, funnel screening, 10-minute setup) or NiceJob ($75/month, native Jobber/HCP integration, highest-rated in the SMB category). I built Hosted Reviews, so I have a conflict of interest here. I have also spent time understanding who Reputation.com is actually built for — and it is not the operator reading this article.
